Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc.’s affiliate company Yokohama Tire Corporation has notified NHTSA it is voluntarily recalling one size of commercial tires.  The 11R22.5 16PR 504C were manufactured at Yokohama’s plant in West Point, Mississippi between June 26, 2022 and December 3, 2022. An estimated total of 1800 504C tires are believed to be affected, but out of an abundance of caution 6992 tires are being recalled in the USA and Canada.

Of the above 6992 tires, 561 units were shipped to Canada. On August 28, 2023 Yokohama Tire (Canada) notified Transport Canada and will recall the above quantity of subject tires in Canada. An estimated total of 146 tires are believed to be affected.

The recall, initiated in accordance with Transport Canada  regulations, was issued because the tires may have been manufactured with an improperly constructed sidewall. There is a possible risk of a sidewall separation which could lead to tire deflation and loss of control of the vehicle.
