Yokohama products to carry 3-peak mountain snowflake badge for extreme winter service

Langley, BC (Mar 11, 2024) – More Yokohama tires have met the industry’s required performance criteria for severe snow service and will display the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol on the sidewall to signify their verification as extreme winter weather tires.

The tires verified include the 714R, 115R, 720R, and 902L UWB, and will display the three-peak mountain snowflake on their sidewalls.

“Canadian winters are not always sympathetic to commercial fleets, so operators need tires that are going to keep the goods moving in all climatic conditions, and they are now assured more Yokohama products can do that,” said Diana Colosimo, Brand Development Manager for Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. “The tires that will now carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol cover regional, emergency and long-haul applications, and assure customers that their required service trucks keep on rolling in the extreme weather conditions Canadians sometimes encounter.”

The tires receiving the severe snow service verification are:

714R - an open shoulder drive tire built specifically to provide serious all-weather traction and significantly longer wear for pickup and delivery van customers. Available in sizes 225/70R19.5 14G  TL and 245/70R19.5 16H  TL

115R - an N-Speed rated all-position tire specifically engineered for emergency vehicles or other class 4 & 5 vehicles needing all-season, high-speed capabilities. The 115R comes in 225/70R19.5 14G.

720R - an N-Speed rated 19.5” drive tire built specifically for pickup trucks and last mile delivery fleets. Providing year-round traction for outstanding maneuverability in urban environments. It’s available in 225/70R19.5 14G TL, featuring a long-wear, deep-tread design.

902L UWB – Meant for long-haul or regional operations, it features innovative tread design to provide maximum traction and even weight distribution for stable tread wear. Its enhanced rubber compound and casing design decreases rolling resistance and increases retreadability—which lower costs. Available in sizes 445/50R22.5 20L and 455/55R22.5 20L.
